She is also series editor for The Southern Table at LSU Press, a former food columnist for The Advocate of Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Acadiana, and a former member of the Newcomb College Culinary History Writers Group. Nobles lives in New Orleans with her husband.

I just this minute received my book and leafed through it - GORGEOUS. To me, A Confederacy of Dunces is the best book ever written. I've read it at least 5 times; got it when it first came out. I have referred to this book many many times since then and even wrote on a job application in answer to "interests " "I dust a bit and make an occasional cheese dip". I look forward to the hot dog section. I even have a cat I can put in the bun compartment. The dishes in this book look wonderful and I love to cook. Oh happy day!
Got this as a gift for my boyfriend, who is a huge Confederacy of Dunces fan. The inside pages are colorful and nicely laid out with quotes from the book. My boyfriend even made me some gumbo from one of the recipes, which was excellent. It was a great gift book, very rare and unusual.
I READ my copy, cover to cover! So enjoyable as well as good recipes. I also gave one as a Christmas gift...the recipient liked it so much, she bought some for gifts. Recently, another was ordered as a birthday gift. Recommend it for all who've read the real Confederacy.
The best thing about this book is you can "eat it up" in an entertaining sense but never never have to cook any of the recipes. Wonderful fun.

I bought this for a friend who was moving to New Orleans. It's quirky and a propos.
What a great way to "marry" the wonderful cooking of New Orleans with the classic, iconic book, "A Confederacy of Dunces." My family read the original right after it was published and have laughed about it, quoted it and recommended it for years. So, when the Cookbook came out, I gave it as gifts. The quotes from the original book printed on the page along with related recipes are hilarious, if you've read the original, and remind you of specific scenes, if you haven't read it in a while. I know this is a cookbook and readers will want reviews on the recipes, but I haven't received reports back yet, nor have I tried them. However, I'm a mediocre cook, but love the variety of everything from cocktails to main dishes to desserts. There are several dishes that look easy enough for me and I will try them - like the "Triple-Chocolate Belchless Brownies", or maybe one of the hot dogs, although I'm sure Ignatius would say I couldn't possibly do it justice. :-)
